ACT Superscore: 33 English: 33 Math: 33 Reading: 33 Science: 31 I tutored informally all throughout my college career. I always helped my peers and friends with homework and studying before exams. The summer after my sophomore year of college, I made it my job to tutor community college students in calculus. All of my students passed, and on average, their grades went up by over a letter grade! Tutoring is something that I love because I think it's such an incredible experience to help someone understand what they once didn't. One of my strategies in tutoring is breaking up the concept or material into smaller bits. I find this makes it less overwhelming to the students, and it helps me know that they are actually grasping the material and not just memorizing it or pretending to understand. For math classes: I've taken Calculus 1, 2, and Multivariable Calculus, DIfferential Equations, Probability & Statistics, Physics. For writing and other classes: I've taken Fiction & Nonfiction Writing, Argumentation writing, Expository writing, Rhetorical writing, psychology, and anthropology classes. I feel that as a Wash U grad, I'm well equipped and qualified to tutor in the subjects I've listed.
