I have an extensive background teaching Chinese literature and language online and in the classroom. I began working as an instructor in the U.S. in 2008 when I had the opportunity to teach high school and college students. I find working with a diverse student population has helped me to hone my teaching methods and instructional techniques and I am confident in my ability to work with all levels and styles of learners. In 2010, I began working in a European university as a Chinese lecturer. This provided a more robust and structured platform from which to teach that I found exhilarating and challenging. I was inspired to resume my own academic goals and I began working towards my doctoral degree in Chinese Modern Literature and Culture which I obtained in 2014. I love helping my students not only master the finer points of the Chinese language but also teaching them more about the culture and history of the country. I currently tutor Mandarin Chinese, AP Chinese language and culture, Mandarin Chinese 1-4, languages, and conversational Mandarin. As an educator I have independently created course material for subjects in my field of expertise and I leverage this experience in creating unique programs of study for the students I tutor.
