I am currently pursuing my Master of Teaching and Initial Certification in Secondary Education emphasizing in English and as a Reading Specialist at Fontbonne University. I graduated with a BA in Psychology from Creighton University in 2007.
Experience
While pursing my master's in teaching, I have worked with a diverse student population (ranging from high school and college) working with them to improve their reading comprehension and writing skills. I am currently student teaching and recently passed my Praxis exam for High School English grades 9-12. Teaching has always been one of my passions and I feel that one on one attention can provide the student with quality assistance to improve their reading, writing, and comprehension skills. I truly believe that each student has the ability to achieve; it is our job to discover how to best help them reach their full potential.

Hobbies
Some of my favorite hobbies include spending my free time with my friends and family (which includes my 2 cats Gatsby and Chaucer), reading (favorite books and authors include: Gone With the Wind, Pride and Prejudice, The Great Gatsby, Charlaine Harris, Deanna Raybourn, Tasha Alexander, Phillipa Gregory, C.S. Harris, Nicholas Sparks, and Anita Shreve to name a few!). I also love playing and watching sports (baseball is my absolute favorite sport followed closely by hockey and football).
